ASAP COURSES
Fire can turn buildings into ashes in minutes; the loss of a building is nothing compared to what can be an enormous loss of life. Training of your staff on the basics of fire is a legal requirement. By training your staff to the required level at a time and pace to suit yourself, this course allows you not only to comply with legislation but to protect your business, property and most of all the safety of yourself, your clients, your colleagues and your employees.
The course includes: the relevant legislation, cause of fire, Fire Triangle, how fire spreads, precautions, action in the event of a fire, use of a various fire extinguishers and use of a fire blanket.

This allows you to create a safer place to live and work.
THIS COURSE IS ALSO SUITABLE FOR CHILDCARE/ DAY CARE.

The course can be accredited at level 2 for a carer/employee (optional). Accreditation is
via the UK accreditation body the OCN. The cost of accreditation is £13+VAT (subject to
change).
The requirements thrown on us by health & safety legislation are enormous; this course is designed to cut through the maze of red tape and regulations to give you practical information and advice. All businesses have a need for general health & safety practices and procedures etc. Within the healthcare sector there is considerably more due to the sector requirements themselves. The training from this course can be aimed at managers as well as carers.

The risk assessment is the cornerstone for UK health & safety legislation. This course
spends time looking at this facet of health & safety and develops it into a standalone
training course for you, which you can deliver alongside the general health & safety
course.

This course covers legislation, manual handling, fire, first aid, COSHH, Accident Reporting, Driving and Risk Assessments to name just a few.

The course can be easily tailored to an organisation's needs.
THIS COURSE IS ALSO SUITABLE FOR CHILDCARE/ DAY CARE.
Dealing with medications is a regular part of every carer's day at work.

The University of London researchers found 70% of residents in the 55 care homes it
sampled had drug errors of some sort. Training and management are the key to the
problem - this course deals with both issues.
The course deals with the legal aspects of medication: receiving and storing medication, medication in the community, the different types of medication and adverse reactions, guidelines for administering medications, drug errors and disposal of medication.
THIS COURSE IS ALSO SUITABLE FOR CHILDCARE/ DAY CARE.
The course can be accredited at level 2 for a carer/employee (optional). Accreditation is

The course Food Hygiene is a vital subject for anyone involved in the preparation, cooking, storing or serving food (making a toast or serving a cup of tea is food preparation/serving). In reality, some people involved in the chain do not always take their responsibility seriously. This course addresses some of those issues along with the standard food hygiene topics to make this course especially useful and practical. The course allows you not only to comply with legislation but to protect your business, reputation and most of all the safety of your clients and staff.
Course content and key topics: legislation, causes of food poisoning, controlling bacteria, symptoms of food poisoning, the food chain, cleaning, hand hygiene, preparation and cooking, storage, HACCP.

Approximately 140,000 people every year die in situations where their lives could have
been saved if somebody had known first aid. The course provides the practical skills and confidence for employees and carers to deal with critical health emergencies not only at work but in private lives and is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments.
The content of this course provides basic life saving first aid and workplace covering the following: the role of the first aider, managing an emergency, communication and casualty care, health and safety (first aid), resuscitation (adult CPR) including the use of AEDs, bleeding (minor and severe), seizures (adult), choking (adult), burns, shock, unresponsive casualty.

The course can be easily adjusted to suite organisation’s needs e.g. annual refreshers,

WHO I AM

RAF SORDON
OWNER & TRAINER

I have been working in healthcare industry for 17 years (still active), predominantly with children and young people with complex needs and often from disadvantaged backgrounds. What those years taught me is a value of patience, compassion, understanding and good sense of humour; value of being a team player and bringing any set tasks to satisfactory conclusion. I also taught me that any person needs to be looked at as an individual and any situation as unique.

During my years as a carer I have witnessed many “near misses” and bad practices; some of them were due to lack of training and some of them due to attitude towards one's responsibilities. I observed that in well-trained carers levels of stress and anxiety were much lower and that they were better equipped to face new and unforeseen challenges. This prompted me to acquiring the qualifications to deliver Medication and H&S training 3 years ago and then to further trainer's qualifications. In order to deliver the courses I have been accredited to Level 3 by UK accreditation body “OCN Credit4Lerning”.

Through delivering trainings I am hoping to help others to improve their professional satisfaction from working in a safe, less stressful and highly skilled environment. Being a small business I can offer a personal and flexible approach, dedication to your needs and determination to deliver the best outcome for you as possible. Otherwise it would feel like failing a friend!
